Error When Defining Plane

When I go to Difraction->Operation->Define Plane, I keep getting the following error "pl50.exe has encountered a problem and needs to close. We are sorry for the inconvenience"

Can someone please explain why this error keeps coming up.

Sounds like you have an older release. This was a problem early on. Follow the update instruction that were sent with you serial number.

I did update the program and the Build date is August 13th 2009. isn't that the last update?
